Abraham, US!

Abraham is the father of all who believe, of all who have faith and believe in God’s promises, all who believe in God without the need of the law. This is what God meant when He told Abraham that he would become the father of many nations. Abraham was to become father of all of those who had the same faith as his. God did promise that he would be given a son but that was separate from God’s promise that he was to become father of many nations. Because Abraham is not only the father of Israel or just the nation of Israel but all those who believe in God including Jews and Gentiles as well, circumcised or not circumcised. God made him father of all of these who believe in him because he believed in God. And so the promise that God gave to Abraham trespasses to his descendants to all of those who he fathers. And yet God promises to confirm His covenant with everyone of us, from generation to generation. He promises to be our God, to always be our God, to all of those who believe in him. He promises to be our God, and we will be his children, his chosen people. And by being our God he is saying that we will depend from Him, we will not need of any other god, we will not need to depend of our own strengths but rather from Him. He will be our stronghold, our provider, our father, our God.
